The Mountain Hydrometeorology Research Group at Montana State University conducts research and develops models to understand critical processes in mountain areas, such as: snow behavior, hydrologic prediction, extreme weather events, climate-driven water availability, and land-atmospheric interactions.
Our goal is to understand and predict water-related information to help build water-ready communities.
We have received a grant from the National Science Foundation to enhance flood forecasting, particularly in mountainous regions prone to rain-on-snow events. The grant was highlighted in the university news and a local newspaper. For the university news, you can visit the full article here. For the local newspaper, you can read the full article here
We are glad to announce that Ryan Gale has joined our research group as an Undergraduate Research Assistant!
